Mini-Stock Rules
2009 Season

1 DRIVER EQUIPMENT:
1.1 HELMET/ FIRE SUIT: Helmet and flame resistant fire suit required. Neck brace required, fire resistant gloves and shoes highly recommended. HELMETS are required and must be approved SHCA or Snell-type full coverage and should be worn at all times car is on the track. Helmets-Snell 2000 or newer.  No dents or cracks in helmet. Helmet must accompany vehicle at time of inspection. Belts must be mounted to cage. Window net required. (Window nets to be mounted so latch is at top front of driver side window.)
1.2 SEATS AND BELTS: Four (4) point safety belts required, (five point recommended). Belts should be replaced every 2 years. NO FRAYS OR CUTS. Seats and belts must be mounted to cage. Aluminum racing seats. No fiberglass seats.
2 SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
2.1 FUEL CELL: Approved fuel cell required, no boat or stock automotive fuel tanks. Must be securely fastened inside trunk of car. Firewall must be between driver and fuel cell. All cell mounts must be steel, attached to frame/cage. Fuel cell must be in metal container. NO GAS CANS. Gas only. No alcohol. Vent check Valve mandatory- PCV valve acceptable. Fuel lines through interior must be in conduit throughout interior.
2.2 FUEL SHUT OFF: MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ON/OFF. FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE MUST BE WITHIN EASY REACH OF DRIVER WHILE BELTED IN, AND BE WITHIN EASY REACH FROM OUTSIDE CAR.
2.3 KILL SWITCH: MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ON/OFF. KILL SWITCH MUST BE WITHIN EASY REACH OF DRIVER WHILE BELTED IN, AND BE WITHIN EASY REACH FROM OUTSIDE CAR.
3 DRIVE TRAIN:
3.1 TRANSMISSION: Must have at least one forward and one reverse plus neutral. Only OEM transmission allowed, automatic or standard.
3.2 SCATTER SHIELD: required. Minimum webbed rubber (i.e. belting) securely fastened between transmission and floorboard. No transmission cooling devices in interior of car. If cooling lines go through interior they must be steel and out of reach of driver. (Inside conduit is recommended).
3.3 DRIVE SHAFT: Safety loop is required on front third of drive shaft. Must paint drive shaft white.
3.4 REAR END: LOCKED OR WELDED REAR ENDS OK. Must be OEM. Brackets and hangers must stay in stock location.
4 ROLL CAGE: Full perimeter four post roll cage required. Rear down bars and hoop recommended. Front hoop is legal. May tie front horns together (2” tubing maximum no wider than frame rails). Three door bars on left side and at least "X" on right side are mandatory. Must use .095 tubing, at least 1.666-inch diameter for cage and door bars. Roll bar padding mandatory in driver compartment. (NO WATER PIPE INSULATION ALLOWED).
5 CAR:
5.1 BODY: Any U.S. or foreign compact car, pickup full frame, or unibody. (No convertibles) No four wheel drive. Front wheel drive vehicles OK. Gutting is allowed. After-market noses or tailpieces OK.
5.2 ALL GLASS, plastic, upholstery, rear seat, lights, and chrome must be removed. NO MIRRORS.
5.3 SUNROOFS must be reinforced and enclosed. All windows in body will remain open. Firewall must be stock and in stock location. Holes in firewall must be covered. Must be able to install stock windshield. Windshield frame must be stock and complete from top of dash up. Full Floorboards must remain intact and visible with a metal firewall separating and sealing driver from fuel cell and trunk area. No interior tin or covers to be added.
5.4 ALL DOORS must be secured shut (welded, chained, bolted, etc). May trim trunk floor for fuel cell clearance or drainage. All hoods and trunks must remain stock and must be securely fastened. Hood must be secured by a minimum of TWO (2) quick release type pins. Hood maybe trimmed for air cleaner 1” MAX.
5.5 NO SPOILERS, wings, skirts, air scoops, or anything that alters stock appearance. Body damage must be repaired by next race date (Note: If your car is too badly beat up you will not be allowed to participate.)
5.6 FRAME: Cars will have original wheelbase of 101" maximum (exception: Pickups 114" Maximum). May tie front frame to rear frame on unibodies, recommended. Engine must be in stock position.
BUMPERS: Must be in stock location. Bumpers must be capped to fenders. No reinforcement of bumper is allowed.
1/4x4” Rub rails with carriage bolts bumper height. Any bent up rails protruding the body will be sent to the pits for repair
6 SUSPENSION:
6.1 FRONT SUSPENSION: Must remain OEM stock. No modifications allowed.
6.2 REAR SUSPENSION: Must remain OEM stock. Rear suspension must match frame.
BRAKES: operative four wheels drum or disc combination. Brakes WILL BE CHECKED. No brake shut-off devises. Master cylinder must be OEM and in stock location.
Steering quickener allowed
7 TIRES/WHEELS: Stock D.O.T. tires. 60 series. 15"maximum wheel size. Steel wheels. No adapters. No mud and snow tread tires.
8 SHOCKS: One (1) per wheel. Shocks have to be in stock location. No racing shocks.
ENGINE: four cylinders only. Maximum of one 2-barrel carburetor. 500CFM maximum. NO Fuel injection. 2500 cc maximum. Headers or exhaust must extend past drivers seat. Must run mufflers. (Not to exceed 95 DB at 100 feet). No exhaust through firewall or body panels. Must run Toyota with Toyota, Ford with Ford, etc. (exception: Ford Couriers may run Mazda engine, Chevy Luv may run Isuzu, Dodge D-50 may run Mitsubishi). No rotary engines.  The following systems are not allowed regardless if they came with the model as an option: Turbo Chargers, Super Chargers, Multi Port Fuel Injection.
COMPRESSION shall be no greater than 200 PSI for all makes and will be checked with engine at normal operating temperature. Engine shall be cranked, with all spark plugs removed, 5 (five) revolutions. Throttle shall be locked open during test and minimum-cranking speed is 200 RPM. Compression will not be averaged.
10 BALLAST: No weights may be added.
11 BATTERY: must be securely mounted with steel hold down bracket and shielded. Batteries mounted inside vehicle must be in steel case, behind driver.
12.1 DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY may claim any engine finishing in the top ten immediately following feature for $500.00.
12.2 Refusal to sell forfeits all cash and contingency winnings for feature. Any driver refusing to sell engine, when claimed within rules, results in a $500.00 fine, sits out 2 weeks, and all accumulated points revoked.
12.3 All claimed engines will be removed from car at the track, Diamond Mountain Speedway must examine engine before removal -- Once removal is started, sale is final. 1 pit crewmember and driver will be allowed in the claim area.
12.4 Any sabotage discovered on claimed engine will result in driver being suspended from competition for 30 calendar days and until $500.00 fine is paid to DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY


EIRI (except in rare instances) decisions of DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY officials are final and binding without exception.
